  • 1968

    Company founded by Taiji Shakuda, inheriting the traditional techniques of brush making.
    Initially manufactured paint brushes exclusively.

  • 1980

    Business is incorporated on December 23rd, established the company as “Mizuho Brush Company Limited”. Taiji Shakuda became representative director.
    Started the manufacturing of cosmetic brushes.

  • 2008

    The corporate brand “Mizuho Brush” is released.
    Started the manufacturing of dental and nail design purpose brushes.

  • 2009

    Expanded to the manufacturing of skincare brushes.

  • 2011

    The Mizuho Brush MB series received the coveted, “GOOD DEISGN AWARD 2011”.

  • 2014

    The company was awarded the Central Federation of Societies Commerce and Industry　Chairman’ prize of “SME IT Management Award” organized by Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry.

  • 2015

    Chosen as one of the “Top 300 Growing SME’s and small-scale businesses” held by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry.

    The new brush brand “SHAQUDA” is released.

  • 2016

    SHAQUDA “UBU” wins “Red Dot Award：Product Design 2016”.

  • 2018

    Director representative changes from Taiji Shakuda (Chairman) to Osahiro Maruyama (Managing director).

  • 2021

    Taiji Shakuda is awarded the Order of the Rising Sun, Silver Rays, during the Autumn conferment 2021, by the Japanese government for his commitment to long term public service and achievement in his field.
